Bit like you claiming we won as many points with Cole up front as Carroll, Alex?

Just another to add to the endless lists of articles that misinterpret statistics.

The worst part is that even using their misguided system of working out who is the best, 9.2 is simply not twice as much as 5.7. It might look a little bit like it might be if you spend less than a couple of seconds looking at it.

ted- good that Tomkins is also in that top 5. We've got a dominate aerial player at either end of the pitch.

Collins isn't too shabby either.

Still not impressed with him. I think what he does is jumped on and promoted more than some other players who play and have played better.
At least he is doing more running and getting involved but to be honest I've seen it all before with him and it doesn't last. He either seems up for it or not and usually not.

Re: Carroll's all round play
Rodgers, the manager who sold Carroll..............and bought Ballotelli.

PS. I don't blame him for selling a player that does not fit his style and I commend him for that but buying Ballotelli seems at odds with his beliefs.

Absolutely Scorchio.

We just need a manager who appreciates there's more to his game than being Kevin Davies MK2.

Their loss is our gain.

Re: Carroll's all round play
if anyone believes that managers/owners etc always tell 100% of the truth 100% of the time they are delusional. they will always lie about certain things if they feel it's in the best interests of the team or the club. terry brown said there was no need for a fire sale when we got relegated. fact is we did need to sell. some fans will moan that they felt mislead, and i guess we were, but at the same time admitting that we had to sell may well have meant we got less for some of our players.

Rodgers is a twat. An inflexible twat.

Re: Carroll's all round play
No, it was obvious to anyone with half a brain that Rodgers wanted shot.

Also, someone on this thread has a direct line to Rodgers so we've had it from the horse's mouth.

As Trevor B said, no way is Rodgers going to come out and say "I want shot". However, what you have conveniently missed out from your quotes is the following:

When asked if Carroll would depart the club this week, Rodgers said: "It is too early to say. I can only be straight with a player on where he stands.

He wanted him gone as soon as he came in as he doesn't fit his style and he had concerns about him. Don't be too gutted.

I'm believving quotes from Brendan Rodgers

you're making up as you go along based on what you THINK was the case

Re: Carroll's all round play
It bought he had a good game but still far too deep and after his goal at the weekend every time he got the ball last night instead of playing it simple and getting back up the pitch there was a spin or a drag back. There area areas for that and it's not the half way line

Rodgers booted him out the door as soon as he got to liverpool.

you can take that to the bank

Trevor B 11:55 Wed Jan 14
Re: Carroll's all round play
to be fair managers/owners/players etc say a lot of things that arent 100% true. rodgers didnt want to lower carroll's potential price by admitting publically that he wanted shot of him asap.

Rodgers spelled out the financial reality at Anfield, when he admitted: "We're not in a position to have £35million players as third-choice strikers".

Re: Carroll's all round play
"The reality is he's still a Liverpool player, he can fit into how I want to play, and he's happy here.

"I'm certainly not wishing to push him out of the door."

Johnson 11:51 Wed Jan 14

Rodgers did not want him to stay at all.

Eggbert Nobacon 11:50 Wed Jan 14

Rodgers said he wanted him to stay

he left as they couldn't really afford a 35m quid sub
